Commercial Vehicle Technician (Workshop-based)
We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual with a passion for trucks to join our commercial workshop team. Working on our customers’, as well as our own, vehicles, this is a fast-paced, dynamic working environment so will only suit those with a flexible approach to work.
You will be responsible for carrying out inspections, routine services and repairs, preparation of vehicles for MOT and presentation for test. All tasks to be performed to the highest standard.
You’ll ideally hold a C+E licence but, more importantly, have sound mechanical knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems able to competently diagnose and repair faults in an efficient manner, recording all work on relevant documentation or electronically on the r2c fleet management system. Good fabrication skills would also be advantageous.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and well under pressure with a calm, methodical and safe approach.
Whilst workshop based, this is a varied role and involves the carrying out of inspections, defect rectification and repair work at our customers’ sites or at the roadside.
Opportunity to earn extra income working ‘on-call’ on evenings and at weekends, attending roadside breakdowns and/or on-site defects/repairs/inspections.
Light Recovery Operative
If a breakdown is serious enough to need recovery, we can safely assume the people involved aren’t having the best of days. Which is why, as one of our Recovery Operatives, you’re doing a whole lot more than recovering a vehicle on the back of a lorry. You’ll interact with people, reassure them, swiftly and safely get them to their destination, and generally ensure that they enjoy the very best customer experience they can under the circumstances. Whatever your background, we seek reliable, presentable, individuals with a flexible approach to work and a passion for driving. You must hold a HGV Class 2 licence (minimum requirement), but equally important are your customer service skills to deal with people in stressful situations able to turn their negative experience into a positive one. Mechanical knowledge is also an advantage but not essential.
Previous experience in vehicle recovery, whilst desirable, again is not essential as full in-house training to IVR standards is provided.
We can also offer the right candidate the opportunity of further career development as we look to grow our commercial recovery team.
Commercial (Heavy) Recovery Operative
We are seeking a reliable individual with a flexible approach to work and a passion for trucks to join our commercial recovery team. Duties include lifting and towing LGV’s, buses and coaches safely and efficiently following breakdown or accident to potentially any UK destination. You’ll hold a HGV Class 1 licence and with an emphasis on “fix rather than recover” due to Customer demands, you’ll also have sound mechanical knowledge able to competently diagnose and repair, where feasible, faults at the roadside. We offer a 24/365 service and you will be required to work alternate weekday evenings and every other weekend on an ‘on-call’ basis. The work is varied and often challenging. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and well under pressure with a calm, methodical and safe approach.
Previous experience in vehicle recovery, whilst desirable, is not essential as full in-house training to IVR standards is provided.
